What is the topic state?

Topic states allow the Product Owner (PO) to keep the rest of your compamy informed about what work the product team is undertaking. This increases transparency within the company, and also allows customer-facing team members to have the most up-to-date information about your product roadmap to share with customers. Herald supports the following implementation states:

• Unclear: this problem/issue stated by this topic is still not clear. Customer facing team members should try to get more information from customers who have a concern about this topic.
• Backlog: this is the default state of topics. All topics start out here.
• Planned: topics that the team has deemed valuable to work on in the near future.
• In Progress: topics that the team is currently working on.
• Complete: topics for which work has already been completed.

Herald also provides a way to share the state of topics (with a visibility toggle at the topic level) directly with some or all of your customers (via the Customer Portal).
